Pulling the Thread
This picture book is inspired by David Horsbourgh’s principles of activity-based learning. It follows the story of a young girl named Chiuu spending her holidays at her grandmother’s place and learning about various things that can be created using threads. This book was made as part of my final semester thesis project for graduation, under the guidance of Vishakha Chanchani.
The picture book was illustrated using ink on paper and photos of various thread and fabric craft pieces (such as quilts, crochet, cross-stitching) and the drawing were kept simple to bring more attention to the photos, and create a uniques experience for the readers.
